What You’ll Learn:

With over 55 million women currently in menopause in the United States, the majority suffer in silence, enduring debilitating symptoms without adequate medical support. Menopause is a significant life transition with profound physical and emotional consequences, including increased risks for cardiovascular disease, bone loss, and dementia. Despite its prevalence and impact, the healthcare system remains underprepared to equip medical students, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to properly address menopause and its many symptoms. Too often, women’s health concerns are dismissed or misattributed to aging, leaving millions to struggle needlessly.

The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause directly confronts these gaps head-on, offering concrete, evidence-based strategies for managing menopausal symptoms. This film challenges outdated misconceptions and provides women with the tools they need to not just survive, but thrive, during this stage of life. While some women experience menopause with few difficulties, they are the exception. For most, symptoms such as hot flashes, weight gain, joint pain, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, migraines, incontinence, vaginal dryness, and loss of libido—just a few of the 64 medically recognized symptoms—can severely impact their quality of life.

These symptoms can begin as early as age 40, during perimenopause, a phase that is still poorly understood and can last up to ten years. One of the most misunderstood aspects of treatment is the safety and efficacy of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for most women. While menopause is often framed as a private issue, its public health and economic costs are significant, making it a critical issue that demands attention and action from the medical community. This CME webinar is designed to break that silence, equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools they need to offer women effective, compassionate care through every stage of menopause.
