Advancing Menopause Care and Mid-Life Women's Health Act (2024)

This bill will authorize $275 million over five years and would strengthen and expand federal research on menopause, healthcare workforce training, awareness and education efforts, and public health promotion and prevention to better address menopause care and midlife healthcare for women.

This bill directs the secretaries of defense and of veterans affairs to take certain steps regarding research related to menopause, perimenopause and/or midlife women’s health.

This bill will authorize $275 million over five years and would strengthen and expand federal research on menopause, healthcare workforce training, awareness and education efforts, and public health promotion and prevention to better address menopause care and midlife healthcare for women.

We’re Addressing the Realities of Menopause Act of 2023 (or the “WARM Act of 2023”)

This bill seeks to amend the Public Health Service Act to include public awareness about menopause and related chronic conditions.

Menopause Research and Equity Act of 2023

This bill will require the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to convene a multidisciplinary team of health professionals to evaluate the status of current menopause research and recommend new, needed studies toward advancing knowledge about perimenopause, menopause and midlife women’s health.

Louisiana

This bill requires Louisiana state Medicaid and private health insurance plans to cover menopause and perimenopause treatment. Effective 8/1/2024.
